FINANCIAL ASSISTANT: OVERVIEW

Job Description: Financial Assistant Position Overview: The Financial Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. This position involves assisting the finance department with various tasks related to financial planning, reporting, analysis, and administrative support. The Financial Assistant works closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Entry and Record Keeping:

• Accurately input financial data into accounting systems and maintain updated records.

• Organize and maintain financial documents, invoices, and receipts.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Assist in processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports.

• Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.

• Prepare and distribute invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.

3. Financial Reporting:

• Generate financial reports, statements, and summaries as required by the finance department.

• Help analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

• Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budgets.

4. Bank Reconciliation:

• Reconcile bank statements and other financial records to ensure accuracy.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

5. Expense Management:

• Assist in tracking and managing company expenses.

• Collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to expense policies and guidelines.

6. Assistance in Audits:

• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing requested documents and reports.

• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and recommendations.

7. Administrative Support:

• Provide administrative assistance to the finance team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining departmental files.

8. Financial Analysis:

• Assist in conducting financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement.

• Prepare financial models and assist with financial decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience in finance, accounting, or a related role is a plus.

 • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Basic knowledge of financial principles and concepts. Additional Information:
